On December 22, 1997, 45 unarmed people at prayer, mostly women and children were killed by paramilitary gunmen in Chiapas, Mexico. This was part of the on-going low intensity warfare against organized indigenous people. So far impunity surrounds this case and the community continues to struggle for justice. At the vigil participants will be invited to sign a letter of solidarity to Civil Society Organization "Las Abejas" (The Bees).
