On March 18, 2006 at the Jane Mallett Theatre in downtown Toronto, a benefit concert was held in aid of the new Catholic University College of Ghana, Africa.

Mr. Joseph Carraro, a long time friend of the University President, Father Michael Schultheis, PhD, had suggested the idea of a charity concert to Maestro Vaguif Kerimov, an internationally renowned Tenor who immediately put together a group of talented students from his school of "Bel Canto" and prepared an evening of Italian and Russian classical music which pleased an enthusiastic audience 300 people from the Ghanaian, Russian and Italian Communities of Toronto.
