New Development Coordinator hired
CJI welcomes John O'Leary to the position of Development Coordinator. John comes to CJI with 17 years of experience as President of Frontier College - a national literacy organization, as well as extensive experience with a variety of community organizations. In his professional and personal life, John has shown a deep and passionate commitment to poor and marginalized individuals and communities. During his time at Frontier College he oversaw the expansion of the organization’s work with the Aboriginal communities of Northern Ontario, the homeless, prison inmates, migrant farm workers and inner city students. John also co-founded the PGI golf tournaments for literacy, the Movement for Canadian Literacy and ABC Canada. John is no stranger to the Jesuits, having spent a year in the Jesuit Novitiate in Guelph. He described that year as one that left a deep and lasting impression on his life and on his understanding of Christian social justice values. We welcome John's passion and commitment and look forward to continued success with him. March 5, 2008 |
