CJI Plans Study Tour to Zambia for Canadian Educators

CJI is planning a Study Tour to Zambia for Canadian teachers and educators to help them deepen their understanding of international social justice issues and bring this to their classrooms. The study tour will take place from July 20th to August 7th 2008. It is being coordinated with the Jesuit Province of Zambia-Malawi. The program in Zambia will include a combination of visits to Jesuit and other projects, meetings with local Jesuits and community leaders, and a hands-on volunteer experience, with a view to see first hand and understand some of the key issues facing Zambia and much of Africa such as food security, economic development, education, AIDS and reflect on how the Church is responding to these issues. There will be a pre trip educational component for participants with speakers, group activities and suggested readings.
