St. Alphonsus Social & Agricultural Centre (SASAC)
Kurseong, Darjeeling, India

Fr. Murray Abraham, SJ (Director Emeritus)
Fr. Thomas Kollakkompil, SJ

Established over 30 years ago by a Canadian Jesuit, Fr Murray Abraham SJ, SASAC is a centre for rural development and poverty reduction with a focus on food production.

It aims to enable poor farmers of Kurseong, Darjeeling, and neighbouring states to use "appropriate technology", so they can produce enough to have self-sufficient families and communities.

SASAC also supports shelter programmes, medical care, children's education, and employment programmes, especially for women.
