2018 Easter Appeal

2018 Easter Appeal

“Come to the waters!” This invitation to life by the prophet Isaiah is the theme of CJI’s Easter Appeal for 2018. It focuses especially on young people, who have a whole life in front of them.

Our focus on young people comes in response to Pope Francis’ invitation to engage with youth in a special way this year, ahead of World Youth Day in Australia and the 2018 Synod of Bishops. With the pope, we are very conscious of the fact that many young people today face major obstacles to the kind of free and full life that Isaiah envisions:

Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you that have no money, come, buy and eat! Come buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Isaiah 55:1)

Many young people “thirst” and many “have no money,” but Isaiah expresses unwavering confidence on their behalf that God will provide.

At Canadian Jesuits International, we are suggesting two projects for Easter that offer real hope to young people. We invite you to join us in supporting these projects. Please click on the projects in the sidebar to learn more about them, and please donate to one or both of them using the links below.
