The March 2023 newsletter published by Darjeeling Jesuits is out.
Highlights highlight a training program conducted for Gandhi Ashram teachers to help ensure that “students, teachers and parents can be effectively accompanied through this year.” The school introduced vocational guidance for Classes 6 to 10 as a result of the training sessions. Gandhi Ashram, a Canadian Jesuits International (CJI) partner, is a Jesuit school in Kalimpong, India, whose vision is to give the poorest children a future through education focused on music.
At Jesu Ashram, 12 students are being prepared for upcoming General Nursing and Midwifery and Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery entrance exams this July. Jesu Ashram, a CJI partner, provides medical treatment and care to the poor in Matigara, especially those living with leprosy and tuberculosis. It also offers a three-year course on nursing for women from poor families who have completed their high school education.
