The Youth for Others Advocacy Symposiums take place every other year and seek to bring together students from Jesuit and other Catholic schools across Canada for formation on a particular advocacy theme accompanied by resource people from the international Jesuit network.

It also seeks to introduce students to responsible citizenship and how to effect change through advocacy, interaction with politicians and visits to Members of Parliament offices.

This initiative forms part of CJI’s Youth for Others (Y4O) program, which aims to form a network of young informed and engaged students in international solidarity and justice.

As part of this program, for several years now Canadian Jesuits International has also brought delegations of Canadian students to the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice on the off years from the Y4O Advocacy Symposium
