Canadian Jesuits International (CJI) is pleased to welcome Kim Gottfried Piché to the newly-created position of Social Justice animator. In this role, Piché will engage with diverse Canadian audiences through collaboration with Jesuit and other partners across the country.
Piché has more than 20 years of experience in faith-based organizations, including working as Animator for Development and Peace – Caritas Canada. From 2016 to 2023, she was the English-language Network Coordinator of the Social Justice Ministry Office of the Archdiocese of Montreal. Her job involved education and action on local and global social justice issues, human rights and peace, and the social dimension of faith.
Much of Piché’s professional career has focused on providing spiritual support to young people, university faculty, social ministry workers, and retirees. She was the Director of Chaplaincy Services at Toronto Metropolitan University from 2005-2010. From 1999 to 2001, she was the manager of one of the L’Arche Daybreak residences, an interfaith community for people with intellectual disabilities.
As CJI’s Social Justice Animator, Piché will work closely with the Outreach Coordinator to promote social justice in Canada through formation, awareness raising, and advocacy programs. The role involves co-designing impactful workshops, events, advocacy campaigns, and innovative educational resources.
