Amin Gabriel, a student at Victor Luke Odhiambo Memorial Secondary School in South Sudan, shares a heartfelt message about how your support for her school through the Sowing Seeds of Transformation project run by the Eastern Africa Jesuits has helped her.
Juan Emilio Hernandez, Canadian Jesuits International Program Coordinator, along with representatives from Irish Jesuits International JesuitenWeltweit Deutschland and more, are in South Sudan to visit Jesuit projects supported by their organizations. The school is named in memory of the murdered Jesuit priest Victor Odhiambo, who was killed at the Jesuit compound in Cueibet by unknown assailants.
The students currently study in makeshift classrooms that require renovation and protection from the heat. The school has 321 secondary and pre-service teacher training students in total (99 female and 222 male). All students receive financial support from the school towards their fees.
